Why am I standing for Mayor?

Waitakiri Eco Sanctuary
It fills me full of hope meeting Christchurch residents who pour huge effort into making this a better city. This week I met Eric Pawson to discuss many issues, including the Red Zone. Eric chairs the Waitakiri Eco Sanctuary Trust https://www.ecosanctuary.nz/
The proposed site for the Eco Sanctuary is near to Travis Wetland Trust It is essential that Christchurch City Council supports these essential environmental proposals. Imagine Christchurch gardens prolific with native birds feeding on our trees. Just as has happened in Wellington with the Bellbirds.
I am sure I will return to Eric and my conversation many times over the next few days.
