You might have been wondering where I have been since returning home to Christchurch. Well, these last couple of weeks I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing groups and individuals across the city and Banks Peninsula. I have been listening to the challenges, frustrations and opportunities facing our city. It has also reinforced why I have decided to stand for Mayor.
I am truly independent and will listen to the people and communities of our city and wider Christchurch. We need to be able to move beyond the politics and bureaucracy, that continue to get in the way of us being able to achieve what this city needs, for its community and its people. The proposed site for the Eco Sanctuary is near to Travis Wetland Trust It is essential that Christchurch City Council supports these essential environmental proposals. Imagine Christchurch gardens prolific with native birds feeding on our trees. Just as has happened in Wellington with the Bellbirds.
