Richmond Meet the Candidates - child friendly - 1-3pm Sat Sept 10th 98 Vogel St Richmond

Facebook event Meet the mayoral candidates and bring your tamariki to come and help beautify our area!

In May and July, we had painting events that started to brighten up the alleyway that links Forth/Vogel St with Evelyn Couzins Ave with garden insects.

Now we're working towards finishing the mural, and thought this was a great opportunity for the Richmond area to meet the candidates in the upcoming mayoral election! (And we can test their painting skills!) We'll add more butterflies, dragonflies, ladybirds and bugs to fill in the empty spaces, make the grass look more realistic, and cover the graffiti panels on the top.

Bring the whole whanau and make sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on!

There will be a sausage sizzle and time to meet mayoral candidates Phil Mauger, David Meates, and Carl Bromley--and maybe more!

We'll also be planting plants along the bottom of the fence.

Come straight to the alley way, accessed by Evelyn Cousins Ave, or Vogel Street.

The Good Times Comedy Club Mayoral Debate 5.30 Friday 30 September 224 St Asaph St

It's time once again to vote in the glorious leader of our fine city!
We want people to be informed voters, but we don't want anyone to have to sit through boring town hall debates to get informed.
So join us for a somewhat informal informing of the voters!
This is an opportunity to get to know the candidates, and throw them some questions of your own, whilst still having a bit of a laugh.
Confirmed so far...
- David Meates
- Phil Mauger
- Mark Chirnside
If you are a candidate who would like to be in the debate please email GrandpaFigs@gmail.com

Space Academy Local Election hui 5pm Sunday 2 October 371 St Asaph St

Want to make a solid vote and not sure who aligns with your values? Want to hear from some candidates in person? Not sure what local government really does? Want to clarify what you'll be keeping an eye on over the next three years?
What is their intention for our rivers; the arts; to regulate development; to support vulnerable communities; to support diversity; transport; the Gondola; and for the things that matter to you?
This Sunday a bunch of candidates (for mayor, council, community board and ECan) are coming to Space Academy to introduce themselves, their ideas and their intentions. These candidates, as nominated by our community, will answer questions and be available for some kōrero around issues that are important to us, to our families, for our kids, our friends and our neighbours.
Featuring (among others):
  • David Meates (for Mayor)
  • Sara Templeton
  • Tim Lindley
  • Colin Meurk
  • Harrison McEvoy
  • Tyla Harrison-Hunt
  • Finn Jackson
  • Benny Gilling
  • Yani Johanson
  • Dr Chrys Horn
  • Hannah Watkinson
  • Greg Byrnes
The bar and pizzeria will be open from 5 (till 9) so you'll be able to stay watered and fed while hearing from and meeting some of the potential future leaders of this city.
Doors open at 5pm with proceedings beginning at 5:20pm.
