Decisions need to be based on making our city a better place for the future. Climate change challenges are already here. We know what will happen – we need to involve all our communities to help make the difficult decisions.
We’re Christchurch! We’re about community. We’re about connection. And after hardship that few other places have ever had to navigate, we’re experts in our own lives and we want to make this place an even greater place, and on our terms!
What matters to us is a safe community. A vibrant city centre. Great jobs. Healthy homes and a healthy environment. We want great schools for our kids and a city we want to grow old in.
We want to be part of shaping a future that we’re invested in. Because no one cares more that about this place – our place – than we do.
Christchurch can lead NZ’s transformation into a sustainable, high-skilled, high-wage economy. We need to leverage our centres for academic excellence, connect with commercial needs for tech and knowledge, and attract people to Christchurch from around NZ and the world.
- Let’s make Christchurch an Urban National Park and move ahead with the regeneration plan for the Ōtākaro/Avon River Corridor.
- Increase biodiversity in Christchurch and on Banks Peninsula.
