Christchurch is a diverse mix of people and businesses, and we need to combine this amazing creative energy and enthusiasm to build and enable connected communities.
The council needs to re-connect with its population, be seen as relevant, and be willing to engage and work with all its communities, from small settlements around Banks Peninsula, to our vibrant centre of town.
Let’s build a city where people are healthy, active, happy and doing what they enjoy.
Really importantly, it means good mental health, and building communities that care for each other.
We need to invest in our community groups, make volunteering easy, support our communities to live together, respect and celebrate differences, and work with our most vulnerable residents.
